This project was an interesting way for me to distort images with glasses lenses, change the focus of the camera and experiment with motion blur. I then continued to develop my images through various collage and painting effects.
To develop this photography I experimented with a weaving technique that merges 2 images together. This allows your eyes to switch focus between them to try and uncover what the images display. I found that by including text, and in particular eye tests, it highlights the difficulty in seeing the partially visible letters.
As part of my photographic experiments I started looking into the work of Alicja Kwade. This prompted me to look into certain substances and how position can change our perception of the object or material. Applying my topic and theories to this technique has produced and interesting optical illusion.
